Default Two Quick Questions

I went through the search list and couldn't find these questions listed so I thought it would ask.

1) Being an E, I am having major trouble trying to keep mobs off my back. I have only played with henchman so far, and even when I do ctrl+space, one is still coming after me instead of the tank. I only have factions, no nightfalls. I also tried clicking on the icon underneath the minimap to move the henchman to the enemies, but the henchman doesn't do anything, they do not attack. So is there anyway to get the henchman to attack BEFORE you attack?

2) Second professions, I choose ritualist as my second profession and I'm not enjoying it, I much rather prefer a pet and trolling undergant. So with that said, even though I choose ritualist, is there anyway to change my seemingly permanent second profession, and if so, how?

For your #2 i don't remember where the guy is in factions, but if you hit the travel icon (ship) when u go to map travel, and go to temple of balthazar there is a guy there that will change your secondary, costs like 500g i think.
And for your #1 good luck lol.

1, not really you can call the target (control and clicking on it which results in your characters saying "I am targeting xyz" xyz being the foe. If you flag the henchmen in front you at the mob they should start attacking it.

2 in factions you can change your secondary when you get to senji corner (after napuli mission if I remember correctly)...at which time you can pick ranger.

1. press control+click on the target. other than that, npcs wont do much as meat shields... so your better off teaming up with someone that is a MM (which makes walls of damage dealing minions) or find someone with a hero mm.

2. keep doing the storyline, and eventually you will become "ascended", at which point you may go to the temple of balthazar and pay for your second profession.

good luck and have fun.. if you have any other questions contact me ingame and il try to help ya out

One other idea you could try is pulling monsters with a longbow. I say a longbow because that way you are out of aggro range and your henchmen will rush in while you stay outside. Once aggro settles on the other party members, start doing your thing.

That in mind though, henchmen (or even people for the most part) can't hold aggro perfectly, so expect monsters to beat on you sometimes. Henchmen and hero monks are usually pretty good at keeping you alive though as long as you're not being spiked down.

Monster AI will often target the player with the lowest armor/health first. Not whoever aggros them first (unless you're going for a more solo tanking sort of thing, but with H/H you obviously are not.). I'm guessing if you're new, especially on an ele, you're thinking "ZOMG DAMITCH" and just loving the hell out of them superior runes, in the case you are that is probably why.

What is your elementalists life? And do you have max armor? (60 for eles)

a less practical solution would be to use earth magic, so the aggro that filters back to you does not really matter as much =P

Run in circles until they change target.

Use any "local" attack, like I use lava front to make them scatter. Most mobs will not beat on you while taking gobs of damage.

Hope this helps!

Basics first

Where and when you can change secondary class depends very much on which game you own.
With Factions you need to do the mission closer to the stars after that you can change secondary.
Don't want to spoil the game with too much mission info but its a few missions after you get to the mainland.

Pretty much Henchmen do what you do attack who you attack etc if you start running around so do they.

What you really want is to get the fighters in the party to go in first and hold the attention of the mob and let you stay at range.
The mob meanwhile will be trying to attack the lowest armour value party member in their area.
Tricky with just henchmen but not impossible, either use a long range weapon to start the attack then stop attacking except with spells or use the mobs natural movement pattern to get them to atack the fighters before they see you.

Since you have ritualist as a secondary you do have spirits which can distract a mob from you and since they cannot move will give you time to back off.
When I started factions I used 2 spirits for this all the time till I changed secondary, they acted as two static party members.

Control + Shift + Left mouse click on an enemy allows you to call targets without actually attacking them. Your henchmen need to be close enough to the called enemy (a little outside your aggro bubble) otherwise they still won't attack though. Or you can simple flag them, they normally go when flagged unless you flag them somewhere they can't go to.

When flagged, heroes and henchmen run to the flag. They won't attack or use skills until they reach the flag. Using a flag is a great way to make henchmen retreat, but not recommended to have them charge into battle.

If you Ctrl Shift Click, you won't move and it will send the henchman in if you are close enough. Enemy AI also goes after the person with the lowest HP. Hopefully you aren't using any superior runes that lower your HP alot.
